OpenAI gets a gentler “limited preview” arrangement where it picks the approved customers. Whether that difference reflects genuine risk assessment or political access is a question the industry needs to grapple with, because the answer shapes who gets to build with frontier models and who doesn’t.

Meanwhile, the convergence of AI and operations keeps accelerating. Meta’s reliability flywheel paper is quietly one of the most important SRE publications this year – not because “AI does incident response” is new, but because of the feedback loop architecture.
