💬 My Take
The frontier-model race is becoming a runtime race. OpenAI’s ultra mode, Meta’s native subagent orchestration, and Grok’s tight coupling with coding environments all push coordination, tool use, and context management into the model platform. That is convenient, but it also means teams inherit more hidden control flow from vendors. The winners will not be the organizations with the most agents; they will be the ones that can explain what those agents did, constrain what they can change, and recover when orchestration goes sideways.
That is why the infrastructure stories matter. GitHub paused a migration ramp, ThriveCart admitted a provider failure exposed its own resilience gap, and the OTel Collector fixed recovery paths that could amplify failure. Good operations is still mostly about refusing to turn one fault into three. AI changes the speed and surface area of production work, but it does not repeal that rule.
